The Research Group are members of the University of Stirling who conduct research our understanding of dementia and related matters.

With users spread over three locations, London, Stirling and Northern Ireland, SugarCRM has enabled the Centre to expand the services we could offer.

Business Issue:

The Dementia centre needed a Web-based CRM solution which would be capable of scaling up to 50,000 records. The CRM needed to record the requests from health and social care professionals requiring information on the studies carried out by the University with an interactive platform which would also record data from an e-commerce website. The CRM systems also needed to act as a logon management system. The centre had already tried propriety contact management programs such as (Act, Goldmine) but these did not provide the flexibility that would allow growth. With 29 users spread over three offices London, Stirling and Northern Ireland in house, on site programmes restricted the expansion of services The Centre could offer.

Requirements:

  • Global Web based CRM solution.
  • Capable of holding vast amounts of data.

Solution: Professional

A fully integrated system using opensource programmes, SugarCRM, Drupal and Ubercart. SugarCRM Professional is at the centre of the platform, being able to collect sales/information requests from both the online shop and field workers and feed this data directly into SugarCRM. By using SugarCRM as the main database, the E-Commerce site is able to check for customer details such as Name, Email Address, and Billing & Delivery Addresses etc. The system would first check to see if the customer already existed in SugarCRM if yes the information was logged against the existing customer; if not a new customer record is created automatically. This now means that The Centre has a fully integrated system which can be used by any of the field staff within any of the offices to recover real time information on Health professionals they are working with.

Business Benefits:

  • Fully integrated CRM with website and e-commerce system.
